Yes, you can buy Creole Seasoning at the supermarked. But they all contain preservatives and miscellaneous stuff you don't want. This is better! And it keeps for a fairly long time.
1 tablespoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1 1/4 teaspoons dried thyme
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon bay leaf powder
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
Make this recipe first then adjust amounts in subsequent recipes, more, or less cayenne etc..
Makes 1/4 cup.
Can be used in any Creole or Cajun recipes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Will keep for several months.
